2012 Vocal Audition Workshop FAQs:

Here are answers to some important questions while considering the Vocal Audition Workshop. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the workshop, your application, or audition and don’t see it here, please submit your inquiry to http://www.TheBachStudio.com/contact.html.

Your question will be answered in a timely manner and could possibly be posted here! SERIOUS APPLICANTS, ONLY!

Q:  What if my application isn’t received by the deadline?
A:   To be considered, the application must be received by the deadline, not postmarked by it. To avoid possible postal service delays, send it at least one week prior to deadline. If you are filling it out online via The Bach Studio Website, you will receive an email notification that it has been received.

Q:  How do I get an application?

A: You may request one by clicking th contact tab at The Bach Studio site or here: http://www.TheBachStudio.com/contact.html   and by filling out the necessary information. You will receive it as an attachment in an email You may send it via email or to the address provided on the application. We are currently working on an online form so we can go paperless!

Q:   Can I send my audition materials separately from my application?

A:     Yes. As stated in the application, you must either audition live or send a recording, audio or video, of yourself singing. You may also submit this via the web. The deadline for the recording to be received, TBA.

Q:  What if I sent an application but I don’t audition or send a recording?

A:   Your admission into the Vocal Audition Workshop will not be considered without both.

Q:  What if I don’t have a lot of singing experience?

A:  You don’t need a lot! All that we ask is that you have some experience, choir, theatre, etc. Even if you don’t have any, but feel that this workshop will help get you on your way, your application will still be considered! Please be specific on the application as to why you want to attend this workshop.

Q:  Why is it so important for me to know how to audition?

A:   In the field of performance you don’t usually get a job without doing an audition. It’s the performer’s version of an interview. There are many different types of gigs out there and most of them require a certain look or voice type. It is important to know what you “specialize” in. Plus, the more you “practice” at auditioning, the more you overcome your nerves, the better at it you get -- therefore, the more likely you are to get the gig!

Q:   Why do I have to audition for an audition workshop? Aren’t I supposed to learn how to do that there?

A:     It's just the first step in your auditioning career! To get into this workshop you have to at least have an interest in pursuing music as a career so we want to see if you’ve got what it takes!
